For the third occasion since he was incarcerated in the Maximum Security Prison of Puente Grande in Jalisco, the presumed Narco-trafficker Ismael Zambada Imperial, son of the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada Garcia, made a demand for guarantees of medical attention.

A letter signed by Zambada Imperial was introduced in the Federal Court of Jalisco and turned over to the Fourth District Court of Amparo in Criminal Matters of Zapopan, where the record was filed case no 399/2015.

"El Mayo Gordito" was detained on 12th of November 2014 by the Marines, the Director of Cefereso No. 2 "Occidente", has refused to provide medical care and medicines, without revealing what condition he suffers from.

On two previous occasions, Ismael Zambada Imperial has solicited Judges about fundamental human rights for the same causes. One of those before the Sixth Judge specialising in Material (1740/2014) and the other with the Second Judge of the same branch (1821/2014), both cases were dismissed as the authorities denied the charges.

The Fourth District Court of Amparo in Penal Matters of Jalisco, ordered the Court Clerk to attend Cefereso No 2, to notify the inmate that the lawsuit had been filed on his behalf, and to ratify with the inmate the contents to decide on the Amparos admission.

If the request is ratified, the complainant will be asked to detail the lack of medical care, and a date will follow for the constitutional hearing.
